Timezone — the most important field
Section titled “Timezone — the most important field”Grid Getter uses your timezone for:
- Custom Schedule trigger times
- Peak Time start and end windows
- DemandGuard monitoring periods
- All timestamps in the Activity Log
Set it to your local timezone — the one where your Tesla site is located. If you have sites in different timezones, use the timezone of your primary site.
Phone number
Section titled “Phone number”Your phone number is used for SMS notifications (if enabled in Settings → Notifications). It’s not required for the app to work.
Phone numbers are automatically formatted as you type.
The Profile page includes a theme selector:
- Light — always use light mode
- Dark — always use dark mode
- System — follow your device’s OS theme setting
See Dark Mode for more details.
Site Location
Section titled “Site Location”The Profile tab includes a Site Location card where you can set your site’s approximate location. Grid Getter uses this to fetch local weather data and solar forecasting information.
You can set your location three ways:
- ZIP Code — enter a US ZIP code and we’ll look up coordinates
- City & State — enter a city and state combination
- Browser Location — click “Use my location” to use your device’s GPS
Grid Getter only stores latitude and longitude coordinates — never your street address. The coordinates are rounded to a ~1 km grid to group nearby sites and minimize API calls.
Your location powers:
- Automated weather data fetching (updated roughly every 30 minutes)
- Current conditions and forecasts on your dashboard
- Future solar production forecasting
See Weather & Stormwatch for full details on how Grid Getter uses your location.
Changing your email
Section titled “Changing your email”Email address changes require identity verification and are handled by our support team. Email support@gridgetter.com from your current email address to request a change.
